I normally wait until they are on sale. Which can be that week or months later. Or in most cases after the console was discontinued.
But it appears I can get both free delivery pre orders are express next day postage, a toy and a decent discount for pre ordering. $11.95 off the RRP of 2 of the games. Possibly a Yoshi toy? Says free stuffed toy and has Yoshi in the picture for each game I pre order. Looking at mario land 3d, skyward sword and mario kart 7.
So 3 Yoshis? Which the store sells for 15-19$ each I think. I knew if I looked at the toys I would buy a heap. But I do like the sound of free. I may even pre order more games if I get a Yoshi toy with them.
Thing about that would mean I wouldn't need a Yoshi marathon then as I would have a army of Yoshis. lol
I twittered the store to ask them a question depending on the reply I may do a pre order later on today.

Turns out you don't get to pick what toy you get. No sign on the order that they are even included.
That's the picture next to the free toy thing. As long as I get them I don't really care to be honest. Id rather get 3 different ones then 3 or 2 of the same (unless they are Yoshi) but being free I can't really complain.
Oh, and to answer your question I do pre-order sometimes, but haven't in a while. The games are usually stocked if I wanna get it that day and with the internt finding a copy is usually easy. I do like some if the incentuves, but they are starting to include them in the games themselves (well the DL stuff, not toys and such obviously).
I think pre ordering zelda was a good thing I haven't looked in other brick stores. But the store I bought it from no longer has any of the wiimote bundle things left. So if I waited I nay have had to buy zelda for 88$ then get a wiimote plus thing which are like 30$.
I get a email today telling me how many in-store credits I have. I go yay finally I will know expecting it to be like 20$ or something, Your credts are worth $3.56 I sit there and go how?? I paid $235.95 in pre orders.
I then go and finally see how many points per $ you get and what the points are worth. $1 gets you ten points which is nice. But when you want to buy out the points are 1000 for $2.
So for me to get a free 3ds game I would need to spend $3500 on games or buy 234 Yoshi toys (which I found out they sell for 2.5x more then another shop).
