Well I think I'm done pre ordering. I don't mind the zelda pre order. I gained on it other then I got a toad..
The 2 mario ones I lost money on them even with the Yoshi toys. Specially when I'm gaining reward cents instead of something I can actually use. I don't mind the release day delivery but how little I have played the 2 games I could have lived with waiting.

Well seems the store I ordered from is in a heap of money problems. Could be closed for good. Warning signs went back pre March, yesterday it was placed in voluntary administration in the hope a buyer can be found. Apparently their pre orders for popular games diablo 3 and max payne (or whatever they are) were rarely processed. So a-lot of unhappy people. I didn't mind the store has some nice sales and better then ebgames sales (gamestop I believe is its US name.) But with the number of stores cutting back on games and if this one closes then that leaves us with 2 actual game stores. One was selling pirated games for 40$ the other one is a rip off. So amount of games available will be lower. So I guess it will be moved into importing games from the UK as they are cheaper. I hope the stores I looked that that didn't sell here change their mind.

That stinks, was it a chain store or just a local one?
Gamestop bought EBgames, so any EBgames that we had have now pretty much changed their names to Gamestop.

Yeah its a chain store. Its the local version of a UK/Europe chain store. Its UK arm had the same money problems earlier on in the year. But was bought out by another company. Now its Australian arm is in trouble but if a buyer is needed one will be hard to get.
Specially since steam and importing from the UK is a-lot cheaper. Even ebay prices for UK games are normally a 3rd or more cheaper then stores sale prices.
I noticed gamestop own the security cert for the HTTPS for ebgames Australia site so maybe stores here will end up with a name change. Are gamestop jerks when it comes to prices over their?

Gamestop aren't really jerks with prices here, they're about what everyone else is. The only thing that sucks about them is the trade in value they give, which is much less than what they'll sell it for, but they have to make money and that's where a lot of their revenue comes from.

ebgames here always sell at full retail unless they have a random non advertised sale. Sometimes they will cut the price by 95cents after a couple of years. The sims 3 was $100 even though its like 3 years old. Due to the xmas sale had it for $47. Another store's regular price was 70 or 80$ and sale price $35. DS/3ds are $70 or $80. Where as the one with money trouble is $11 cheaper. Ps3/xbox360 $90 to $130. Wii $100 . Which other stores can have it for $88 and that as a regular price. I did attempt to sell a few N64 games a few years ago when I was 17. I bought them and even on easy mode where to hard. 3 weeks before same shop (ebgames) I bought them for $20 and $15 used when I asked what they would give me $5 and $2. 400% and 750% mark up. That was when I decided not to ever bother with trying to sell games.

Yeah its pretty much closing. Over 50% of stores are closing becoming bare bones and that some stores have having bye bye sales. Doesn't say if my 2 closest stores are going or not. Quite sad really.

They released the stores that are closed/to be closed. One shop I thought existed never did exist. So yeah turns out there was only 1 close one and it stays open. Which I was surprised about. The shopping centre its in is tiny. Plus it has EB games in it. As well as department ones that sell games. Maybe next time I am there I should buy a Yoshi doll lol.

I don't own a Yoshi island for snes. I'm not even sure if my snes would still work. most likely be full of dust now just like the n64. I do have a air compressor to get rid of any dust if I ever want to play it though. I do on the other hand have the gba re-releases one on the 3ds as part of the ambassador thing and on gba cart. Yoshi games I have Yoshi NES (3ds ambassador thing) Yoshi's island (snes) GBA remake, (3ds ambassador thing) Yoshi's story N64 Yoshi touch and go DS Yoshi island DS If it counts Super mario world SNES, GBA x 2 as I thought I lost it so bought another one. Then found it again after several months.

Seems the store is having a sale. 40% off games in the stores that aren't already closed, online to but more restrictions and stuff apparently. I wonder in if I go if they would give me 40% off Yoshi toys New rumours there no buyer is likely and the store will start shutting down sales within a week. Due to debt being $120,000,000.
