For the last few weeks my internet connection has been acting funny. Some pages take ages to load or can't find page. Youtube 3 seconds of video buffer which takes it about 6 seconds to do.
The problem is after reading some stuff about firefox/waterfox and my galaxy nexus. I really can't rule out that it isn't just my devices.
Galaxy nexus has a wifi problem with 4.0.4 firefox/waterfox has a problem with flash player. Though seems its a problem with any browser that uses the non IE plugin. The random page load problems well are well random.
I bought a program last week got to 75% download and it failed now I can't download it so I had to put in a customer request and well its painful trying to find the correct department. Basically their help page wanted me to call Germany... So the cost of the call and working out the timezone different no thanks lol.
The galaxy nexus complains about the connection. When opening the play store etc I get a "Can't connect" when it does sometimes takes it sweet time to do anything. I ran a speedtest and well it lost the connection.
Normally when I complain to my isp I have solid data to back me up. But this I don't really have anything.
All that I have which may be temporary is a cable tv box that's picture is blurry. (which is what I was told to look out for when the guy "installed" it.) Also a show a guy had a plain blue shirt on and some reason it kept going stripey.
My cable internet and the cable box at the other end have very decent signals though.

Well I had fun. I had to speak to tech support for both my cable internet and tv. Tv support said there is nothing wrong with my line. Yeah..... But cable internet tech support said there is a problem with my line. They remotely rebooted my modem and it took ages for it to reconnect which seems to list a line problem. So they are sending out a tech to look. Hopefully I will get a decent tech who will look for problems not go "it works makes up some lie on the spot." When they rebooted the modem the time that it takes to go online is meant to be 1min. We waited a few mins I was saying when the lights where going out coming on. The guy wrote a report booked a tech before it came back on. So it was out for a bit. I have seen it take 20mins to connect by that I mean I gave up after 20mins and went and watched tv. So hopefully this will fix it. Other wise I maybe changing ISP's choice is 6Mbit dsl or the other congested cable network.. Either way it will kill any chance of streaming.

Behold they send me a tech who had been at my house several times before and out of all of them this one actually cared. (only 2 cared this one and the one that came out to fix the problems.) They found a network fault (turns out I have had it for like 2 years though) They put a request in to get the cable internet signals increased and fix the noise issue and hopefully fix the cable tv box's problems too. So I'm not bonkers like phone support made out I was.

Well the level 2 or 3 tech spent nearly 6 hours on my job. average time is 1 hour lol. They have come to the conclusion that my modem is well stuffed. Also that there is a area wide fault which I got reported so hopefully that they will fix it soon. So again I was not insane... They are sending the report to my isp who will get a new modem send out to me. So I at-least get a new modem out of it not that I can really use this one as a spare. If a surge or something completely blows the replacement up it will be handy I suppose. Well I'm puzzled though they fixed the signals up in the street and now my cable tv box is now 9db where it was stuffing up at 8db and 9db I can't complain it looks quite nice. So just another weird thing that makes no sense lol. Still pondering if I want to upgrade the box to HD as those boxes are better and have better pictures id have to pay 100$ install fee and a extra 10$ a month. Well I'm kinda happy. If the current federal government loses the election I get 300mbit cable. If they win just another step until I get direct fiber. So I don't really lose. Rather a better upload speed though on cable but that is unlikely. As I was hitting post my phone rang it was my ISP checking up to see if everything was working. I explained what the tech today said and they transferred me to higher up support. Who checked to see if I had to pay for a replacement. $258.95 even though I only paid $158.95 for a self install kit. Which is what I'm getting next week free as I have only had it 9 months. They transferred me to order support. Who confirmed the address. So all done now
