So after spending a heap of time looking at google for prices. Here is a list of games that I'll be getting maybe next week. Kirby's epic yarn 29$ wii Kirby's adventure wii (outside of here it's return to dreamland) $60 New super mario bros 2. $50 3ds. (this is a pre order price) RRP prices total is $269.80 I'm still kinda pondering getting a 3ds xl. I found a 249$ offer that comes with a remote controlled mario kart toy. Or a in-store un advertised pre order (which looks lot like their online normal 3ds offer) Forum says its a 3ds XL, a accessory pack (not sure what one but I found one on their site listed as being 25$) and 29$ off any game for 249$ making it about 279$ with New super mario bros 2. Which is a nice price. It's at the shop that has the 29$ kirby game so I'll just ask. If they say no I'll go elsewhere. They are a pretty nice shop they gave me 100$ off my tv which was already on special.

I love me some Kirby games. That's a good list right there. I'm still thinking about the 3DS XL as well, but I just got a regular 3DS from my bro so I'll hold off, plus I'm not sure if I have the cash lol

I bought kirby's epic yarn. I thought id wait on kirby's adventure wii. For a week or 2. The store had no such 3ds XL offer that I originally posted but its for the baby 3ds. Which leaves me with ? Do I buy a 3ds XL with 2 games for 259$ that id never play but wouldn't mind the 400 club nintendo stars. (Not that I need them as I have 5050stars and nothing is worth getting. I could get game and watch 1 and 2 and have 50 stars left over.) Buy a 3ds Xl by itself for 248$ Wait for a 3ds xl bundle with new super mario bros 2? I have mario 3d land/mario kart 7 as I haven't really touched them since release. So I am not really desperate for new games. Plus I have the kirby and the busted stores games to play still. I also did buy kingdom hearts 1 and 2 for ps2 as a Youtuber I watch told me to buy them.

I would probably wait and see if they come out with a new super Mario bros 2 bundle. You already have an original 3ds so you can still play that for now.

After talking to some people in the UK in the last few weeks I'm now pondering getting a 360 slim and or a ps3 slim. I have now got everything for the nexus and the laptop is done.
What are your thoughts on pre owned consoles? These are cheaper about $199 for either the 360s 250gig or the ps3s 320gig. Some have games included but it varies as to what. 3 month warranty max.
New xbox 360 deal has 250 gig console. Halo Reach, Fable 3, Gears of War 2 (Download token) & HDMI cable $398
New PS3 320GB + Sorcery & Move Starter Kit $389 or PS3 320GB Console + Sony PlayTV + Assassin's Creed: Revelations Bundle $422. Couple of standalone 160gig ps3's for $330ish.
I was reading that there will be a new ps3 revision coming soon that is smaller and less power hungry. So I am wondering maybe wait. I think it might be soon as some ps3's retailers are selling out.

For the price difference for a used console I would probably go with one of them, unless you want all of the stuff the bundles come with. I do however, usually like buying new systems just because I own it fresh then, but I would get used if the price was right.

After I wrote the post I found a few do not buy used xbox's as they will pretty much die as soon as you take them home. Did not mention the slim ones though. I'm having fun trying to find data on both the ps3 and 360 slim failure rates. Maybe they completely fixed the YLOD and RROD problems? Since they are listed as design faults here you could get it repaired a heap of times for free. As consumer law says you can't sell products with known problems unless you give out complete support for them if they break in or out of the required warranty timeframe. (or something like that. ) I am thinking go for new. But If I do find a nice price I will buy a used one. Though there aren't really a-lot of places to buy used ones from.

The RROD was supposed to be pretty much fixed with the slim model, not sure about the PS3 though.

Even buying a new Ps3 is difficult. One gaming store doesn't even have them listed. Others its marked as sold out. Other store has them but no offers.
The 3 I have found have.
New PS3 320GB + Sorcery & Move Starter Kit $389 or PS3 320GB Console + GT 5 + Black Dual Shock 3 + RC car $429 Oddly though they are at the same store lol. PS3 320GB Console + Sony PlayTV + Assassin's Creed: Revelations Bundle $422
I'm not really a fan of move its just a wii copy. Its just the cheapest price I can find on any ps3 320gig deals. It leaves me with 1 game worth of money left. From what I can tell I should like GT 5. But I don't really need a 2nd controller RC car I wouldn't mind one but it isn't on my must get as it will no doubt break within 2 mins. PlayTv is useless and has way to many restrictions with it (our version anyway). Can't skip ads other then FF. Wont record pay tv that's all I have in my room. So yeah useless.
RRP are ps3 320gig $449 Move starter pack $63.96 Sorcery $49.95 additional controllers are $63.96 GT 5 $39.94 RC car $34.95 Playtv $78.95 Assassin's Creed: Revelations $89.94
If I was to sell the unwanted things 422$ bundle would be the best bet. Seems like a hassle to sell things for and then what do I ask for? eBays highest bids have 45$ for play tv. 25$ for Assassin's Creed: Revelations. (as you can easily import it.) Then there is eBay listing fees and paypal fees if they pay via cc. Doesn't seem all that worth it.

Does the store you're buying it from allow trade ins? If you could buy the bundle then trade in those items immediately that would be an easier option, even though you wouldn't get as much money back as selling on eBay probably.

Well the above stores don't allow trade ins. I am pondering over trying to get a price match at a store that does though. Or seeing if that have any in-store deals. But it is a pain in the butt to buy stuff from them though. (Green and the blue come with reward points for a card that I have. works out to be like 2$ to $2.50 though lol) But I kinda wonder why the trade in store doesn't have ps3's listed on their website any old pages for just the ps3 itself say sorry item not found. That's why I'm wondering if there is a new ps3 revision due soon which Sony denied, though Nintendo did that with the 3ds xl a day before they announced it.
As you said I wouldn't get that much for them. As it will be like 60$ used then store cost + tax will be like 40% or less. (when I went to trade things in before I was told 1/7th 2$ (shelf price 14$) and 5$ 1/4 (shelf price 20$) though they where having a clearance of n64games at the time due to the gamecube being out for a while that's how long ago that was lol..)

Yeah that could be tough then, it might not even be worth it. I guess you have to try and figure out how much you could potentially make selling them on eBay and then subtract any fee costs to see if it's worth it.

ACR is 25$ playtv is about 50$ listing fees about 5$ each if they pay with a credit card then that's $1 and then 3$ and like 8$. So about 53$ profit or something.
So really the 389$ looks better as id at-least keep that who knows I may want to play with a glowing ice cream cone Though I don't really have the room for it I don't think.
It may even be worth just buying a used ps3 and getting insurance thing on it. I have no idea how much it is though.

Just found a new offer. (it pays to read web forums lol)
ps3 360gig GT 5, LBP 2, resistance 3 and a extra controller for 399$. Gt 5 and LBP 2 id play. resistance 3 doubtful. I maybe able to trade it for something else in store. (worth a shot anyway.)
I thought 2 of the others offers had been taken down. turns out their site no longer shows "ps3" when you look up "playstation 3" Which is strange lol.
