Any idea's other the its own fan on how to keep a router cool? As I posted in the rant thread I'm getting a internet speed upgrade sometime soon. 120mbit/2.4mbit. Could be new year with the postal delays and public holidays and that.
Now the new things I need apparently get quite toasty. My current router sort of gets hot but it has some coins underneath it to give it some elevation. Also the coins kinda work as a heat sync too. With internal antennas I feel that wont be such a good idea.
So I'm trying to get idea's on what I can do with a new one?
These are what I came up with. Are there any more things I could do?
Get a rectangular water bottle fill it up with water and glue the lid on it. Put that underneath it and see if that cools it.
Get a plastic material in a /\/\/\/\/\ type pattern (no idea where to get it though.)
Make a thing like I have now but with wood instead of metal coins.
Only reason why I'm asking is that a few years ago I had a cable set top box blow up due to over heating. The guy that came to replace it was kinda surprised that it did get hot. The room doesn't really get the best ventilation.

I've never had a router overheat on me *knock on wood* but I guess you could have a separate small fan blowing on it.
