I asked the delivery company what in cookies is taking so long. Seems it was returned to sender on Monday. Strangely enough the store has not contacted me. Either to say why it was or to get a refund. I wont be able to cancel the card if they give me a refund so maybe the rain is helpful. So the auto message from the store says 3 day business day wait. I can not understand why it should take that long. I bet it like the computer parts I bought a few years ago. That where delivered to the senders address because the sender decided to make the senders address bigger then mine. If mail was a new thing I could understand mistakes like that but who on earth goes lets make ours bigger. I love that the delivery company say that have you messaged them to confirm they got it? I sure didn't cancel it either the store or the delivery company did.

Shop doesn't want to bother talking to me until its been 10 days. If it was xmas time then I could see a point in waiting just to make sure it came. But this is pretty much the most non busy time of year no holidays at all. The have sold out of them so if it is missing broken etc then I guess I'll end up with a refund. Well not laptop related but I think I may buy a new phone tonight. Samsung Galaxy Nexus it's half price atm so the store I'm looking at says. $399 reduced from $799. Another store has it for $500 as a regular price. Only negative thing I found says it's a "plastic phone." Not really sure how that's a bad thing in my book as a iPhone is glass and glass breaks too. A decent case and screen protector like I have on the iPhone and I should be set I think. Specs and stuff. 2G Network: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 3G Network: UMTS 850/900/1700/1900/2100 Our version doesn't have LTE/4G as we only have one network and then its limited areas and runs on 1800mhz. The provider I'm on uses a mix of 850mhz and 2100mhz Bluetooth: 3 NFC: Yes USB: microUSB 2.0 Wi-Fi: 802.11 a/b/g/n Display: Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colours, 720 x 1280 pixels, 4.65 inches (~316 ppi pixel density) CPU: Dual Core 1.2GHz Cortex-A9 Memory: 1 GB RAM Storage: 16gig I read a review test which put the Samsung over the iPhone 4 in nearly all categories. iPhone did win one but it was on storage the iPhone tested was 32gig where as the Samsung was 16gig. (my iPhone is the 16gig model.) Only drag is having to buy a heap of apps all over again.

The Nexus is supposed to be nice and at the reduced price it is probably well worth it. I believe it has ICS on it too which is a plus. The "plastic phone" reference probably means the case itself is plastic, no metal or anything more durable.

I didn't end up getting the phone just yet anyway. At the last minute while trying to find a free delivery code or something just to put the price down a tad. I did get a code that dropped it by 27cents lol It said that the store sells Japanese unlocked phones it does support our network its just a tad out due to different set ups so coverage wont be all that great or something. Told to avoid if possible so I shall. I did end up finding another local version? which I thought of getting its a extra 25$ but you do get a extra year warranty. Which I was going to pay extra for from the first shop anyway. I thought id go to sleep and think about it. I think the delivery was cheaper as well so really. the 25$ more does get reduced a bit. I was woken up before from the parcel delivery people. They had my laptop and the first thoughts are I kinda hate it. The screen has a light leak? which I can do nothing about. If you have nothing open its all wavy and stuff but being a clearance model I can't do anything about it as some clearance models have it. If something is open then you don't notice it/goes away. May change the desktop background to see if that helps. update it does. I just put the picture of Piplup that I had on my old one and desktop and you don't notice it now. Just loaded a black page and it appears so I need to avoid black/dark games/pages lol. May have been damaged in transit too I guess as it kinda wasn't packed that great. I guess I'll find out in the future. Other thoughts: It has a white backlit keyboard (could say its purple, could just be how I am using it.) Its also adjustable which is nice. Dell one it was on or off. The hard drives are 7200rpm The wireless card is well rubbish. Made by the same company that made the last one performance is the exact same. I will give the laptop points that it will allow me to get a usb stick wireless dongle. The 3g dongle I had for the last one would hit on things The track pad mouse thing actually is better then the last one had. Still not great but better. Speakers are poor its sounds like they are under 15 pillows. It is faster even though I haven't gotten rid of the bloatware yet. Well I got rid of bing something and the office 2010 trial that it had. Things to get rid of internet explorer and the security trial program and then look to see what pointless Asus stuff that it has.

Sounds like it has it's problems, but are you happy with it? I don't understand why companies can't get speakers right on a laptop. The speakers on my laptop actually get loud, but it's really the only one I've ever seen that has loud speakers.

My old asus one had pretty nice speakers. I normally don't go any higher then about 20%. Using max volume it handled it great when I did. This one you need about 60% to be able to listen to it but high points the speakers screech something horrible. So 0 point even bothering to use them. I was reading asus's forum and said yeah said to uninstall a few things and most stuff I had already attempted they will always sound bad. "Use headphones or a decent external system." The speakers are tiny to allow more ram, changeable wireless cards and better cooling so a post said. As a whole I really don't know if I like it. Maybe when I get a wireless thing for it and some more headphones. (currently using earbuds that I got with my iPhone which make my ears hurt.) that I'll like it more. I went though the wireless cards and mine is the worst one they had in the series. Which I am surprised about. Why have a blu ray burner and other fancy things its 3d compatible using hdmi to a 3d tv. yet skimp out on a wireless card of all things. I guess not many people have 100mbit internet connections so a low level card is enough for them. The flickering screen is also annoying but nothing I can do about that. Phone wise I may not get one for a couple of weeks be a late birthday present. Kinda over budget this week so if I was to buy one Id be stuffed if I needed money. (I forgot to count the phone prepaid recharge that I need of all things lol.) Edit. I think the flickering could be me. I saw it blinked and it went away. Much like the 3ds does to me if I have the 3d on. I turned it from 1920 x 1080 to 1600 x 900 and I haven't seen it so it could just be the extra pixels something I'm not used to. I did think of maybe wearing my glasses that I use from time to time to see if that helped. For fun I went and read some of the dell 17r se reviews. I think I would have hated it. Battery drain super quick. wireless card is rubbish worse then this one strangly, its noisy. This one is too I guess. but this is a gaming one so kinda is expected. Thoughts are though. If the non 3d dell had 2 hard drives or 8gig of ram I would have rathered it then this. Due to it being newer. I think I would have liked the MSI's that I found the most though. Why did they have to go up in price

It is kinda growing on me. I have had no trouble with the touch pad well once. Seems it decided to randomly click when the headphone cable ran along it. Also the buttons work not like the last one. Plus its more tap then crunch.
Making less mistakes with the keyboard then before.
Now that I worked out what the flickering is it doesn't worry me. It's only on a couple of angles Move a bit and its gone or less noticeable.
Now that I've done updating it it is less annoying you need to restart because of x restart now!!!!! I love how I say don't check for updates and what does it do much check for updates or I'll scream!!!
Once I get headphones should be decent. Sounded the same when I was watching a stream. So the removal of the annoying sound programs helped.
I haven't tested what it has battery life yet.
I need to install steam on it or some games to test performance but its general use is nice.

Yeah give it some time and pick up a nice set of headphones. Glad it's growing on you though, it would suck if you hated it.

I am over picky at times. But I still think i would have liked the MSI one more. Just seemed fancier.
I went out and bought headphones for it (which I am crabby with they require a battery to work and aren't wireless so why...) but forgot to look for a wireless dongle. I have to go back next week anyway so no biggy may even get a trip to the store over the weekend.

Was actually good that I forgot to get the wireless dongle thing. I found it for $69 (store that I was going to get it from had it for $99.) So I'll get that next week. I did think to look in the store as I walked past it but thought it would no doubt cost the most when in reality its the cheapest non online store for the particular item.
I bought some batteries for my headphones as behold they took the size that I don't have. Sounds 300000% better then the built in speakers. What I found out though while typing this post is only the loudness setting needs a battery. With out the loudness it kinda sounds like the inbuilt speaks though so maybe worth it.
I gave away my old laptop. My dad wanted it strangely enough he didn't yell at me like every other time I buy a laptop. Why did you buy one for insert reason for not needing one.
The thing was he didn't expect me to give him the i5. He thought I had a working old one with out a battery. I kinda wondered if he knew I had the new one or what so I slightly asked him about why he all of a sudden wanted one. He replied with well you offered to give one to that guy at work. So I thought you had a spare one. At the time I said that as I would have a spare shortly. I'm like well I don't have any working spares before though.
Here are the ones I have around. Toshiba that power jack is loose so you can't charge or run it from the power. * HP that has catastrophic hardware failure * The Asus i5. That works The new Asus one. That works.
* I don't really know what to do with them take them to a electronic recyclers I guess. - the hard drives.
He always seems to think I have spares when I don't. Why did I need to give him the i5 when he needed instructions on how to change a car part if I had a spare...

Just got a grey screen of death on my laptop. Reading a internet post that I found seems it will get worse. Appears its a easy fix though it just needs a reinstall windows. So I'll see about grabbing a home premium disc online and having a go with that.

So far its only done it the once. So I haven't done anything to it. But if it does it again I'll run a repair on it.
Well still pondering getting a new phone.
Samsung galaxy S II or a Samsung galaxy nexus.
The comparison between the 2 says.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4.65inch display @ higher resolution Android 4.1 as of now I believe 5mp camera 1gig ram 1.2ghz CPU SX540 GPU (which is 5 years old)
Samsung Galaxy S II 4.3inch display Android 2.3 (upgrade to 4.0 is in the works) 8mp camera 1gig ram 1.2ghz cpu better GPU than the galaxy nexus SD card slot
I like the size of the nexus Camera doesn't mean much to me I have several digital camera's. iPhone will be still be with me too just as a iPod touch. Which again 16gig is enough use for me. Already paid apps that don't require a online connection to play will remain on the iPhone. As far as I know, only the online radio app and the weather app will need to be bought again. Any future things will end up If its cross platform it will be on the iPhone (unless a reason is given) then it will end up on that. If its android exclusive well you should know lol.
Prices nexus is cheaper at <$450 vs <$510 S G II.
I did post a message on a 399$ nexus store's facebook page but it seems iffy to me still. Plus the 450$ is Australian and 2 year warranty. Where as the 399$ is a grey import. Only one year warranty (and they handle any claims) and 2 years is extra making it around ~$450
Goal is around 550$ I want a case, screen protector charger etc though and delivered.
Edit: Just checked a forum thread seems there is a store selling the galaxy nexus for 399$ delivered with the 2 year warranty Australian stock. So yeah looks like I'll be getting that on Monday.. Well provided the site is working telling me to pick a color even though there are no options other then "pick a color." They also have a few cheap galaxy s 2's in for $450.
Thought I may go though the faults to decide what to get.
Nexus has major battery problems (fixed with a ap as well as turning off location services etc) and a strange software bug that disables the microphone. lol Also found that Samsung released a bigger battery after the battery complaints US its 50$ here its 80$ lol.

The Nexus is supposed to be really good, it's been getting some high praise. Plus, the support for it is high, obviously because it's Googles phone. I believe it was the first phone to be upgraded to Jellybean too.

I decided to ask my provider a few things before buying one. They have said some interesting things. My iphone should not drop out as much as it does specially when it's cold when the temperature inside is like ~59F the phone decides to say the sim card is missing etc. Seems this is a phone fault. Plus the drop outs at places are weird specially when cheaper phones don't have the problem. Seems this is because I don't have a apple bumper case (which contains metal) I have a low rated coverage phone. If I was to get one it would be max rated coverage wise. The 4 phones I am looking at getting one is 4G lte. But I am nowhere near a lte area. It just has a duel 3G capability where you can get 2x as faster downloads which sounds fancy. This is what they sent me. C = Blue Tick phones (Highest coverage rating) B = Recommended for use in regional areas, that is in and immediately around major regional centres and towns. (second highest) A = Recommended for handheld use in metropolitan and major regional areas (lowest)
So the iPhone 4 is an A unless you have a rubber bumper from Apple, then it's a C
Samsung Galaxy Nexus - B Samsung Galaxy S2 - A Samsung Galaxy S3 - B HTC Velocity - B(though the website says something else lol) Says that they are all the same. Though there are s S2's 4G lte and 3G Edit: Well I bought a Nexus. I had a choice of paying $487.00 and getting just a phone and 3 years warranty. (This store is actually one of the cheapest but has a 12month warranty only and its a hong kong branded phone 399$ extra 2 years is a extra 69$ rest is postage.) Or paying $502 and getting a screen protector, a temporary case, a car charger, 2 years warranty and the phone. (this is apparently a Australian branded phone.) So for the 15$ more I get faster delivery, screen protector $9.95, leather case $9.99 and a car charger $17.99.
