So the idea's I had when you had the moment.
Some of which you are already doing.
1. Shorter marathons. maybe at a more frequent basis. 24, 12 or 6 hours.
A example of 6 hours. Would be have 6 hours on 4 ont he weekend. Do your stuff go home have noms and whatever and go to bed.
2. More well known games into the mix.
As I said Mario can be split up into a heap of different ways. Have platform'ing marathon and have like mario 1 and 3 and some few other non mario platformers.
Like Zelda you can do a what you think the time lines of the games are. So early Zelda story lines. This game to me is the last in the current storyline.
Be creative.
3. * This one will most likely be a no. But hey maybe have team mountain gaming have a daily stream of a hour with one of you Chris does Monday, Matt Tuesday, and Mike Wednesday. The stream is just the game and do commentary. You are still a team just making the most of your own talents. I doubt you like the exact same games and play them the exact same way.
As I typed and stuffed up. The guy who hated me because I asked him if the domain name I came up with was ok etc.
He streams complete crap (stuff like drawing in MS paint, doing what type of vampire questions things and randomly searching though his hard drive for pictures.) and ends up with 200+ people. The Oregon trail and roller-coaster tycoon made him popular.
He has 700+ followers on twitter. Makes as much sense as I do.
* If you do this then you will be able to network a heap better and grab people. The new term for it is channel raiding where you become buddies with the streamer when they say they are going to bed and say I'll stream a bit of megaman 10x. You don't have to finish the game.
4. Interact with the interwebs more. All 3 get twitter accounts. Use your facebook group thing more. Its better to look like you are talking to yourself then to have something and never update it.
Also advertise on any site that allows it. So gaming marathon sites.
I see there is a listing on gamemarathons.com/2011/10/tmgs-halloween-fest-2011-october-28/ You left it to the day to put it on??
A few weeks in advance would help. I go though every now and then and see if there is a Yoshi one with a decent charity coming on soon.
5. Continue the LP's on youtube maybe make them rare and games people search for. If I didn't go looking for terranigma that day. I never would have found Cotgw. Which means I wouldn't have found here.
I remember your kiwi kraze one. Note be-careful with names.
As I would never have searched for kiwi kraze. I know it as the New Zealand story. So make sure you tag videos in any other names the games has. So you aren't accidentally blocking off parts of the world due to something as simple as the game name. Until I watched it I didn't know they were the same game.
6. Which is to say bye bye to ustream. I've looked for games on it and it was right at the end with no viewers. ustream is just not really known as a gaming stream site anymore. cats, penguins and red panda's sure. (that's what I go there for mostly now days.) When you are on twitch or justin make sure you set the game you are playing. Helps out with attracting viewers too.
To be honest I think the last marathon was the lest interesting to me. Halloween isn't a big thing for me and plus I don't really like scary type games. The giant spiders in WoW scare me.
I think I may have more ideas but its 3.42am now. So I'm going to bed.
