I'm guessing most of the sites I use will not ship to Australia...The only other site I can recommend is eBay, you can usually find replacement batteries on there. A buyer I just ordered one from was called TechOrbitz and the first one I got was bad I think so I sent it back and they sent me a replacement, I'm just waiting on that. You could even try to get a used laptop off eBay for a decent price. My one laptop I have I got from there and it was in great shape and a good price, only problem was the battery lasted about an hour or less. I've owned it for about a year now I think and it's been working well *knocks on wood*. Just be sure to read the listing completely and check the sellers feedback.

Well looks like I'm stuffed.
I just checked ebay and 2 results came up.
Genuine Battery Asus A32-K72 K72JK K72JR k72F Laptop 6C Location: China Buy It Now AU $302.04
Genuine Battery Asus A32-K72 K72JK K72JR k72F Laptop Location: China Buy It Now AU $167.22
After being scammed from China before I have no interest in getting either.
After playing around on google I found something called battery repacking. Seems there is a place very local to where I live that does it. I might chuck them a email to see if they still exist. Site last updated 2009 lol.
Edit well they do still exist. I can get a new from a likely no name battery from them for 144$ or get the one I have repacked for 175$. I could get both for the price Asus wants for 1 new battery. I sent off another email and depending on what they say on what I do. I get 2 new ones Just repack my old one. Or get 1 new one and a repack.

Some laptop batteries seem much harder to get and way more expensive. I remember an Acer laptop I had would have cost me a little over $100 for a new battery (non Acer brand I believe), but the HP laptop I have that I just ordered the battery for (and am still waiting on) only cost me $35 (non HP brand), but is up to $50 after expidited shipping and return shipping. Even after all that (and hoping the replacement one will work) that's still less than half of what the Acer battery would have cost me when I had that laptop. The Acer laptop was a lower end model so it didn't seem worth it to me to spend that kind of money on the battery.
Good luck on your battery hunt though and hopefully that company can help you out!

There are some really good non HP batteries for HP's. My last laptop was a HP I loved it 8 hours battery life with one running at 38% and one at 69% (they were old batteries.) I calculated 2 new ones would have seen me get +15 hours out of it. Problem was the motherboard has a design fault and I was quoted 500$ to 1000$ to get it replaced. I was told it was most likely do it again.
So paying 1000$ for it to last 6months or some other part to break just seemed stupid. 2 weeks before I was looking at new batteries for it was just about to click buy when I thought id wait a tad bit for a non bill week so I had more money. I would have gotten them on the day it broke if I had bought the new ones.
That's when I ended up getting the asus that I have now. It was $1290 for a core I5.

I found out apple dropped its itunes app store prices because of the USD to AUD conversion. From what I can tell its about a 20cent drop. So what used to be $2.19 is now $1.99. Price for music and tv shows etc hasn't changed though. *sigh*

Man, $2 a song? How much does Amazon charge for mp3's over there?

Well whatever the US store charges I guess. I haven't really looked into it from what I have seen though they only sell to US Canada and that every-time I see it has VPN in the post. I might have a play around with it one day and see if it lets me buy stuff but I really doubt it will work. Other wise why isn't iTunes cheaper?
Just checked standard is US only. We have our own amazon music store somewhere.

Sometimes we get iTunes artists sales where a cd will have songs at 99 cents per song but it is rare. My ISP has its own online music store where songs where $1.20 if you used it as a ISP or $1.49 if you didn't. They dropped the ISP discount. Plus you had to get vouchers from shops and I forgot where I could buy them. So have just used iTunes but Ive only bought like 4 songs its mostly apps and Tv shows that I get.

New rant time yay.
Gaming speed runs. I was watching 2 one guy was quite proud of himself for beating Legend of Zelda Link to the past in under 1 hour 40 mins. All the guy did was use save states if a monster hit him or he didn't kill a monster in a certain time save state loaded. These are achievements to people??? I can watch a eps of Xplay in under 4mins if I use the fast forward button on the cable remote.
I have no problems if you like skip items, side quests. But doing some glitches I have no problems with but like the LTTP skip the entire game glitch umm no. But this guy I'm watching now that used a chicken to get to the bottom of the well in OOT you aren't really skipping it just getting to it early. I may try that myself. Completely skipping the deku tree on the other hand umm no.
Also USPS So USPS have gone like though the floor for some reason. Some airports aren't shipping to Australia very often anymore.
Here is a tracking of a item I bought last month. The item is currently in transit to the destination. Processed Through Sort Facility, July 12, 2011, 12:33 pm, ISC CHICAGO IL (USPS) Arrived at Sort Facility, July 12, 2011, 10:48 am, ISC CHICAGO IL (USPS) Electronic Shipping Info Received, July 12, 2011
A few other people on a nerdy forum I visit also report a heap of items from the Chicago area being delayed. I think they are sending them once a month instead of every few days. If the tracking updates in the next 2 days its only once a month. If its longer then its over a month.

New rant So as you know I upgraded my phone to a iPhone a few months ago and had a few strange things with it. When the phone got cold it would say the sim card wasn't in it until it was turned off and warmed up. Now I have another problem. Next to no data streaming According to the speedtest app I get 0.09mbit/0.23mbit. It takes ages for twitter to update and for a webpage to download. I have contacted my provider and asked for a new sim card. Only to be told I need to check coverage, clean the sim card and to try another phone. that is great and all. I had coverage until recently I think I really don't know as the other phone never worked. I have cleaned the sim card several times. So far I have send them messages on facebook. I was told to clean sim card check coverage etc reply back if it did nothing but I was ignored. Visited the local store. Where I was told I wasn't turning the phone off enough. I have now asked them on twitter. Do you think this counts as contacting them enough? I'm only asking as I have the ability to contact a government agency. Who will help with talks between my provider and myself. If the provider is unable to fix the service then I'm free to leave the provider once I pay off the IPhone. Currently there is 730$ owning on it. The rule is that you really should contact the provider before using the agency. Not everyone does though. So I'm thinking if I get told to clean my sim card turn my phone off etc again then to contact the agency. or do I do what the guy who replied to me told me to do. whrl.pl/RcTcDb thats my post. They will get fined for me contacting them its between 40 - 80$ per complaint received. Would you be happy to use the agency?

I'd probably try what that poster said on the forum, go to the other Virgin Mobile store that he had no problems at. You could also try some speed tests at night (or whatever time you would be going to the store) beforehand and if they are always slow around that time then you can almost guarantee that the phone will have slow data when you take it to them, just in case they decide to try out your data speeds.
Then, if they still don't help you I'd probably bring it up to the TIO.
Also, have you Googled your issue to see if it is a common problem?

There is another threads about it on that forum about congestion on the network. One has 1250 replies for the last 6 months the other 121 posts in 9 days. Thing was another network over sold its services so badly that was something like 300,000+ members left in the space of a couple of months which all ended up on mine because it was the next cheapest. Which in turn stuffed their network up.
I decided to run speedtests during the day and night and plan on showing it to them when I go to the store. Other wise they will most likely charge me for a new sim and or I get stuck with having to get a new number.
Plus the tio would like to see a reference too. currently performing at 1.00mbit/0.39mbit I bet in a hour it will be next to nothing.
Edit. I tested it with another device I had this time a 3g usb stick (same provider etc.) which I forgot I had lol. It came up with 3.6mbit/0.36mbit. low ping of 78ms and 1600ms lag spikes and packet loss average ping to the first hop would have been 300-400ms. It couldn't find the forum I linked to before but a few refresh clicks it found it. So I do think there is something going on here.
What I'm going to do is. Save up a bit of money. Buy the phone out and move to the most expensive yet reliable provider.
Currently I pay 73$ for 4 gig. Does pay 38$ a month off the iphone though. (As someone said the value isn't there if you can't use it.) Other provider has 50$ for 3gig.
Phone was sold as 908$ after 6 months will have 226$ paid off it. Leaving 680$. If I didn't buy the iPhone I would have bought a ipod touch they 8 gig sells for 234$ so we will say 290$ for a non existent 16gig model. Which leaves 390$ for the phone. Which I'm happy about paying. Also I get to use this one as a phone not a 400$ torch.

Moving to a more reliable provider sounds like your best bet. Good luck!

Well that may have been a whoops.
I found a little tip on the forum I posted earlier on. Regarding iPhone 4's said to put it in airplane mode for ~30 seconds then turn airplane mode off. I did that and then did a speedtest 5.71mbits/1.31mbits. Fastest I have ever seen the 3g network (downstream) perform. Thing was I did test it at 2am in the morning so the test will be when people are awake. Unless the sim card is i don't know what very strange that it only goes meh between 3 and 9pm and hates my grandma's house and the other black spots it isn't the sim card.
I still plan on leaving in 3 months. Only way I would say and even then its temporarily would be if someone did a Yoshi marathon and I wanted all the prizes. lol
