So which of you are excited about this shiny new Wii U?
I know I am, looks delicious! And sexy! And fun!
P.S. : If you don't like the Wii U, I will classify you as a dudebro.

Well, considering that I am considered the Nintendo fanboy of the group (I can't help it, their games are just plain better...) I would say that I am beyond excited! It looks awesome, I wanna bite that controller....

From what Ive seen which isn't much it looks ok. The thing I was reading said come back tomorrow for full details. It isn't tomorrow yet so yeah lol. I'll wait til tomorrow to really say if its cool or meh.
Nintendo Australia are marking the wii for 177$ and comes with mario kart wii instead of wii sports. With that kind of aggressive attitude, I was wondering a week ago if Wii U hd or whatever its going to be called was going to out really soonish. Like Q1 next year. The wii is 78$ on paper. (was 300$ a few months ago and only came with wii sports.) They are also advertising the wii like crazy with is normally the sign of a console death being close.
How are the prices in the US and advertising normal Wii wise anything new/odd to report?
edit: Just read a local news site here i did have to click a link about pay tv for it to come up. Looks pretty nice. I just wonder how much it will end up being for me. If its too pricey I'll just stick to the wii and PC. Also I found out I'm not buying the new zelda game either. Picture to promote it here is a giant spider. I hate spiders specially giant ones.

It seems like Nintendo has alot of 3rd party support with the Wii U, on top of their own AAA first party games the big N is known for. Im certainly interested.

LOL that kermit picture is the best!!!
Yea, the zelda promo vid left me speechless. If this thing can pull out graphics like that and the bird video then I finally get my dream, Nintendo games (fanboyism) in stunning HD... It really does seem too good to be true, and that's not even counting the awesome possibilities of that controller...
Also, Pikmin 3 (one of my fav series) is already slated to be a "launch window" title.... Day one buy it looks like if that's the case! (we all knew I would anyway)

I'm interested in it, but who knows if I will get one. I bought the Wii and have barely played that thing, so don't know how much time I would even put into the WiiU..then again, I haven't really been playing games too much at all recently...
and LOL at that GIF Kefka, but honestly Sony's conference wasn't much better. All they talked about was the Drake game and the Vita, which I could care less about...oh, and they apologized for about a half hour for being hacked lol

So the Sony pre e3 talk was true. They said most of the conference would be saying sorry over and over and please come back. They then said they may talk about 2 games didn't say what games though lol.
Got to love miyamoto though when interviewed
Q: What difference will having a high-definition game console make for Nintendo? For example, the demo of Zelda on the new console looks completely different to what it has looked like for the past 25 years.
A: It will be more difficult to create it (laughs).
He is one cheeky man. HD means longer to take to make games. I guess its true but still different answer to say lol.

I think of the WiiU as I look at past nintendo gimmiks (other than virtual boy). Some people thought that that dual screens on the DS would suck, well theyre awesome. Some people thought that motion controls would be riddiculous, well the wii was ok. Some people thought the 3ds would have unesscessary 3D, well it's kind of amazing. And now we come to the WiiU... hopefully not a bad gimmick.

I know a lot of you are going to bite me for this, but in my opinion it's just simply pointless. I mean why do we need a controller with a screen on it?(I guess if the developers actually make use of that for menus or something then it may be useful) And they are trying to sell this thing by saying:"You can play while others watch TV"...Seriously, I think the audience they intend this for usually has at least two TVs at home, and if not then comes the fact that if you could afford the WiiU controller, you could afford an other TV.

I agree with those points za909. I just hope you can turn the screen off to save battery life. Other wise it will spend more time charging then being used.

I doubt the controller is going to suck as much energy as you think. And I believe the screen is full of awesome opportunities.
