Well I do but I think I may have fixed it I think a doggy hair may have gotten in my phone. Most of my house has 4 bars again and the rest is either 3 bars or 5. I choked on something I got out of it. lol I recently bought a new cable modem off eBay for 99 cents. Now it was advertised as "new". eBay ad www.ebay.com.au/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120790292863&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:AU:1123Or if you are lazy a copy and paste "Condition: New: Never Used: A new, unused item with absolutely no signs of wear. The item may be missing the original packaging, ... Read more about the condition Brand: Motorola Modem Type: Cable Motorola surfboard cable modem Opened from packaging Look at picture for all specs" (which you can't see as eBay shrunk the picture.) Today I fire up the modem and see a heap of error messages from 2009. here are 2. 2009-06-11 16:42:33 3-Critical T002.0 SYNC Timing Synchronization failure - Failed to acquire FEC framing 2009-06-11 16:42:33 3-Critical T001.0 SYNC Timing Synchronization failure - Failed to acquire QAM/QPSK symbol timing ^ Reading the entire modem log shows something was really wrong with their cable connection and or modem. Doesn't say which provider they received it from. But looking at how long the modem takes to connect after being reset. Kinda think it's the modem. I Now I completely doubted it would sell for 99 cents if it was "new" but hey worth a shot. I did have to pay 12$ delivery. It isn't the first time I have bought something marked as new and turns out it was really really used. Was a 14 year old kid trying to sell his game boy. Which is in breach of ebay's terms. Have to be 18 here. So I'm a tad bit cranky now with lying ads.

That sucks, but you took a shot at it. It won't even be worth it trying to get your money refunded, since you won't get any delivery charges back.

I decided to remove it and use my old one. The one I bought can be a spare I guess. Its just this type are supported by my ISP but are super hard to get.
Only reason why I have my current one is because I complained several times about getting the other type they sent to me. Which they charged me 300$ for. The Motorola one sells for 199$. I was happy to pay the 199$ originally and told them. But no they sent me the 300$ one. I ended up getting both the Motorola and the other one for free. But chances are If I call up I'll end up paying 300$ for the one I don't want.

Well I found out why are wireless upload speeds are better then cabled speeds. According to a thing I read its due to them not wanting business people using the residential cabled plans to do business on.
I was just looking at the Hauppauge HD PVR Gaming Edition before. I found something quite scary. It says its "Input voltage of power supply provided: 110-220v at 50/60Hz" 220v is 20v lower then what ours is so chances are it will blow up maybe.
Edit: its just a lazy copy and paste job. I asked them and they said its Australian standard 240v. I think they must have copied the description from a UK website lol. Did seem odd that they used its weight and that in lbs lol.

So 2 weeks till my first 6 months of my iPhone contract is up. Meaning I can cancel and just pay the remaining equipment cost of like 680$. I put a message up on the whirlpool forums asking if there is any way I can get the equipment cost reduced. I don't see why I have to pay for the entire thing since it was there network I had problems with. I wouldn't mind 236$ (4x 59$ discount.) Some people have been able to get the final pay out of 100$. Which would be a 580$ discount. Would be nice but around 200$ discount I would be happy with. I have one reply so far go to the TIO. Which is what the majority of people say to do. "Oh my bill was wrong" 'oh they can't do that take them to the tio.' You are meant to call the provider up and see if they will do anything. If they ignore or whatever then put in a tio complaint. I'm kinda thinking call them today. And see if they offer me anything. they did send me the following a few months ago. ]I understand that you're wishing to be released from your contract with no penalty or wanted a 50% discount off your monthly bill for the reminder of your contract. To further assist you with any fee waiver request and to discuss your options, please contact our Loyalty Team directly on 1300 306 787 (standard call charge applies). They are available from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday & 9am to 6pm on Saturday (AEST).
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We truly appreciate your effort in taking the time to send us your feedback. Rest assured that it has been noted on your account and forwarded to our Management Team, who will use it as an opportunity to offer you better service in the future. The way I take it they should offer me something It's meant to be noted on my account. But I don't think its that simple. I bet if I call up I'll only be told cancellation fees will be 930$ being a 250$ charge. If they do that then I can go to the TIO though.

I ended up just putting in a tio complaint. I discovered that the number they gave me was the generic call centre. Who have gave me a crap load of fun last time. Considering the amount of emails and store visits I have done. I was going to get nowhere with them as well So now I wait.
Edit: just got a email from the TIO telling me the complaint had been sent. virgin mobile have 10 business days to contact me. If nothing then I have to reply to my original message and get it upgraded to level 1.
I guess I can buy the capture card thing now. lol
Edit 2. I received a call from virgin mobile. Only took like 1.5 hours if they were only like that normally. They are letting me keep the iPhone for 150$. Would have been 680$ if I didn't complain. All virgin services I have with them are cancelled effective of today. I am in a bad blackspot they have no idea when they will fix it.
I also did buy the capture thing.

I got the capture card today. I think the 3 second device to computer delay is a bit much. Only way out of it will be if I run my laptop as a second monitor. Then run a extra 10 cables to my actual computer monitor. I'm not really a fan of having to use my laptop too its going to stress the cookies out of my 1.2mbit upload meaning I'm going to have to reduce the quality I originally wanted to use.

I just got my final bill. This bill due 24 Nov 2011 $1,041.00 - credits applied $818.04 total due $222.96 I somehow lost my 5$ a month bundle discount.. 150$ of the $222.96 is my iPhone final charge so that leaves it with $72.96 my normal month is 73$. I still had 4 days to go in the billing month when it was cancelled. I want my 5$ discount lol. or a pro rated discount of $4.67

I couldn't steal a phone I'm too paranoid as it is. Once I was using a proxy to visit a website. 20mins later the dog started barking and heard some car doors get violently slammed I thought I was getting arrested. It was just a site that I may have sent a threat too a few years ago.
